Howlin' Wolf

Howlin' Wolf, also known as Chester Arthur Burnett, was an American blues singer, guitarist and harmonica player, who is considered one of the best and most influential blues singers of all time. He was born in White Station, Mississippi in 1910 and was raised by his grandmother who was a spiritual leader in the community. He learned to play the harmonica and guitar at a young age and began to perform at local parties and juke joints.

He moved to Memphis in 1948 and recorded his first single, "Moanin' at Midnight", with producer Sam Phillips. This record was the beginning of his success, and he would go on to record many more albums and singles over the course of his career. His most successful albums include Howlin' Wolf (1962), The Howlin' Wolf Album (1969), and The London Howlin' Wolf Sessions (1971). His most popular songs include "Smokestack Lightnin'", "Spoonful", and "Killing Floor".

An interesting fact about Howlin' Wolf is that he was the inspiration for the character of "The Man" in the iconic Led Zeppelin song, "The Lemon Song".
