Heaven 17 is an English synthpop band that formed in Sheffield, England in 1980. Founded by Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh, the duo was formerly part of the influential band Human League. After leaving the band in 1980, Ware and Marsh decided to form Heaven 17, which featured a funkier, more electronic sound.

Heaven 17's breakthrough album was 1983's The Luxury Gap, which featured their biggest hits, "Temptation" and "Let Me Go". This album also featured their most popular song, "Come Live With Me". The band followed up their success with 1984's How Men Are, which featured their hit "This Is Mine" and 1985's Pleasure One.

Heaven 17 also released several other albums throughout the 1980s, including 1986's Teddy Bear, Duke & Psycho and 1988's The Height of the Fighting. They had a few minor hits during the 1990s, but have since become less active.

An interesting fact about Heaven 17 is that they were one of the first bands to embrace the use of computers in music production. They were also one of the first synthpop bands to embrace the use of the Fairlight CMI, a digital sampling synthesizer.
