Harold Budd is an American ambient and avant-garde composer and pianist from Los Angeles, California. He has been an active musician since the late 1960s, and has released more than twenty solo albums, as well as collaborations with other artists such as Brian Eno and Cocteau Twins.

Budd's best-known solo albums include The Pavilion of Dreams (1978), The White Arcades (1986), and Luxa (1996). His standout songs include "Abandoned Cities" (from The Pavilion of Dreams), "Balthus Bemused by Color" (from The White Arcades), and "The Room of Ancillary Dreams" (from Luxa).

An interesting fact about Harold Budd is that he has collaborated with film director David Lynch on the soundtrack of the TV series Twin Peaks.
