Grover Washington, Jr. (December 12, 1943 - December 17, 1999) was an American jazz-funk and soul-jazz saxophonist. He is best known for his 1974 hit "Mr. Magic", as well as other solo albums and collaborations with Bill Withers, Brian Auger, and Quincy Jones.

Washington's standout albums include 1974's Mister Magic, 1975's Feels So Good, 1977's Winelight, and 1981's The Best Is Yet to Come. He is also known for his iconic live recordings, such as Live at the Bijou and The Best of Grover Washington, Jr. Live.

Among Washington's most well-known songs are "Mr. Magic", "Just the Two of Us", "East River Drive", "Black Frost", and "Let It Flow".

An interesting fact about Grover Washington, Jr. is that he was the first musician to win a Grammy Award for Best R&B Instrumental Performance, for his 1975 hit "Feels So Good".
