Ghazal
Ghazal is a form of classical music and poetry originating in the Middle East and North Africa. It is traditionally performed by two singers (male and female) and typically follows a 12-beat cycle. It is often sung in a plaintive, melancholic tone and is usually accompanied by instruments such as the tabla, harmonium, and sarangi. The lyrics are typically romantic, and the melodies are often drawn from traditional folk songs. Ghazal's history dates back to the 13th century, when it was used by Persian poets to express their love for their beloved.
