Gerry Rafferty was a Scottish singer-songwriter born in 1947. He is best known for his 1978 solo album City to City, which included the hit singles "Baker Street", "Right Down the Line" and "Home and Dry". His other notable albums include Stealers Wheel's 1972 self-titled debut, Can I Have My Money Back? and Night Owl.

Rafferty's most successful and acclaimed album was City to City, released in 1978. The album reached No. 1 on the US Billboard 200, and featured the hit single "Baker Street".
