George Clinton is an American singer, songwriter, producer, and bandleader who is considered one of the most influential figures in funk music. He is known for leading two highly successful and influential funk bands, Parliament and Funkadelic, throughout the 1970s. He has been called one of the most important innovators of funk music, as well as one of the most influential figures in modern music history.

Clinton's most notable albums include Parliament's Mothership Connection (1975) and Funkadelic's One Nation Under a Groove (1978). Mothership Connection is considered a classic of the funk genre, and includes the popular singles "Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof off the Sucker)" and "P-Funk (Wants to Get Funked Up)". One Nation Under a Groove features the hit single of the same name, and is widely considered to be one of the best funk albums of all time.

Other notable songs by George Clinton include "Atomic Dog", "Flash Light", "Aqua Boogie (A Psychoalphadiscobetabioaquadoloop)", and "Do Fries Go With That Shake".

An interesting fact about George Clinton is that he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, once for his work with Parliament in 1997 and again for his work with Funkadelic in 2019.
