Generation X Vinyl Records

Generation X is a punk rock band from London, England that formed in 1976. The band was initially composed of Billy Idol, Tony James, and John Towe. Generation X was a major influence on the punk rock scene of the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Their debut album, Generation X, was released in 1978 and featured songs such as "Ready Steady Go", "Kiss Me Deadly", and "Day By Day". Their follow-up album, Valley of the Dolls, was released in 1979 and featured the hit singles "Dancing With Myself" and "Youth Youth Youth".

Generation X's final album, Kiss Me Deadly, was released in 1981 and featured the singles "Wild Youth", "Kiss Me Deadly", and "Dancing With Myself". The album was produced by Martin Rushent and is considered to be their best work.

Generation X disbanded in 1981 but reunited in 1999 for a series of live shows. They released their fourth album, Beautiful Thieves, in 2006.

An interesting fact about Generation X is that the band was originally formed as a vehicle for Billy Idol's solo career. Idol had been a member of the punk rock group Chelsea prior to forming Generation X.
