Dick Hyman is an American jazz pianist, organist, arranger, composer, and conductor. He has worked in a variety of musical styles, including jazz, classical, pop, and rock. Hyman was born in 1927 in New York City and began his musical studies at the age of seven. He studied classical piano with Ernst Bacon, composition with Edward Bantock, and organ with Joe Mooney.

Hyman's standout albums include The Age of Electronicus (1969), Moog: The Electric Eclectics of Dick Hyman (1969), and The Electric Eclectics of Dick Hyman (1970). His songs have been recorded by many other artists, including Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and Tony Bennett.

An interesting fact about Dick Hyman is that he composed and performed the score for the Woody Allen films Take the Money and Run (1969) and Bananas (1971). He also wrote and performed the music for Mel Brooks' Blazing Saddles (1974).
