Dexys Midnight Runners, often shortened to Dexys, is a British band from Birmingham, England, formed in 1978 by Kevin Rowland. The band is best known for its 1983 hit single "Come On Eileen," which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart and the US Billboard Hot 100.

The band's first two albums, Searching for the Young Soul Rebels (1980) and Too-Rye-Ay (1982), were major successes, both reaching the top 10 of the UK Albums Chart. Their third album, Don't Stand Me Down (1985), was a commercial failure, and the band split shortly after its release.

Dexys released their fourth album, One Day I'm Going to Soar, in 2012. The album featured a mix of new and old material, and was well-received by critics.
