Dawn

Dawn is an American R&B/soul group from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The group was originally formed in 1970 and originally consisted of group members Tony Orlando, Telma Hopkins, and Joyce Vincent Wilson. The group found success in the early 1970s, with their biggest hit being the single "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree," which reached the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Dawn's first album, Candida, was released in 1970 and was the group's most successful album. The album featured their signature single "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree," as well as other hits such as "Knock Three Times" and "Look in My Eyes Pretty Woman." The album was certified gold by the RIAA.

In 1972, Dawn released their second album, Dawn's New Ragtime Follies. The album featured the singles "Say, Has Anybody Seen My Sweet Gypsy Rose" and "He Don't Love You (Like I Love You)," both of which were top 10 hits. The album was certified gold by the RIAA.

In 1974, Dawn released their third album, Prime Time. The album featured the singles "Steppin' Out (Gonna Boogie Tonight)" and "Who's in the Strawberry Patch with Sally," both of which were top 10 hits. The album was certified gold by the RIAA.

An interesting fact about Dawn is that in 1973, the group became the first group ever to have three consecutive number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100.
