Constantin Silvestri Vinyl Records

Constantin Silvestri (1913-1969) was a Romanian composer and conductor. He studied music at the Conservatory of Music in Bucharest, Romania and later at the Paris Conservatory. He conducted the Romanian National Radio Orchestra and the Romanian Opera House Orchestra.

Silvestri's music was heavily influenced by the French Impressionists and he is considered to be one of Romania's most influential composers. He composed works for the symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra, chorus, and solo instruments. His most famous works are the suites for orchestra titled The Romanian Rhapsodies, which were inspired by traditional Romanian folk music.

Silvestri's standout albums include Romanian Rhapsody (1954), Music of Constantin Silvestri (1957), and Symphony No. 2 in B Flat Major (1958). His most famous songs include “The Maiden's Dream”, “The Sunrise”, and “Eternal Memory”.

An interesting fact about Constantin Silvestri is that he was the first Romanian composer to have his music performed at the Salzburg Festival in Austria in 1967.
