Coil Vinyl Records

Coil was an experimental music group founded in 1982 by John Balance and Peter Christopherson, two former members of the seminal post-punk group Throbbing Gristle. The group, who hailed from London, England, quickly gained an underground following in the avant-garde, industrial, and electronic music scenes with their unique sound and groundbreaking live performances.

The group's discography includes a wide variety of musical styles, from the heavy industrial of their early work to the ambient, drone-like sound of their later albums. Their most acclaimed albums are considered to be Horse Rotorvator (1986), Love's Secret Domain (1991), and Musick to Play in the Dark (1999). Standout songs from the group include “Tainted Love”, “The Snow”, and “Fire of the Mind”.

An interesting fact about Coil is that they collaborated with Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant on the album Stoned Immaculate (2000).
