Climax Blues Band Vinyl Records

The Climax Blues Band was formed in Stafford, England in 1968 by vocalist/guitarist Colin Cooper, bassist/vocalist Pete Haycock, guitarist/vocalist Derek Holt, keyboardist Arthur Wood and drummer George Newsome. They released their self-titled debut album in 1970, followed by “A Lot of Bottle” in 1971 and “Rich Man” in 1972.

The band gained international recognition with their 1976 release “Gold Plated”, which spawned the hit single “Couldn’t Get It Right”. The single reached number 3 on the UK singles chart and earned them a platinum album in the US. Other standout albums include “Real to Reel” (1977), “Flying the Flag” (1978), “Lucky for Some” (1981), and “Sample and Hold” (1985).

Some of the band’s best known songs include “Couldn’t Get It Right”, “I Love You”, “Gimme Some Lovin'”, “Satisfaction Guaranteed”, “Fool for the Bright Lights”, “I Am Constant”, “I Love You (No Matter What You Do)” and “Fool For the Bright Lights”.

An interesting fact about the Climax Blues Band is that their single “Couldn’t Get It Right” was featured in the soundtrack for the cult classic movie “The Blues Brothers”.
