Christian Ferras Vinyl Records

Christian Ferras (1933-1982) was a French violinist and conductor who became one of the most influential violinists of the 20th century. He studied at the Paris Conservatory and made his debut at the age of 11. After his studies, he became a concert violinist and toured extensively throughout Europe. He was a frequent guest at the Salzburg Festival and the Lucerne Festival.

Ferras was best known for his recordings of the works of Beethoven, Brahms, Tchaikovsky and BartΓ³k. His most well-known recordings include his interpretations of Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D major, and Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D major. He also released a recording of the Franck Sonata for Violin and Piano in 1956.

Some of Ferras' standout albums include his recordings of the Brahms and Beethoven concertos with the Berlin Philharmonic conducted by Herbert von Karajan, and his recording of the Franck Sonata for Violin and Piano with pianist Pierre Barbizet.

An interesting fact about Ferras is that he was the first violinist to record the entire cycle of Beethoven's violin concertos.
