Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band is an American rock band from New Jersey that formed in 1972. The core members are Bruce Springsteen (vocals, guitar, harmonica), Roy Bittan (piano), Garry Tallent (bass), Max Weinberg (drums), Steven Van Zandt (guitar) and Nils Lofgren (guitar). Other members have included Clarence Clemons (saxophone), Danny Federici (keyboards), and Patti Scialfa (backing vocals).

The band is best known for their album Born to Run (1975) which features hit songs such as “Thunder Road” and “Born to Run”. Other notable albums include The River (1980) and Born in the U.S.A. (1984). These albums featured hit songs such as “Hungry Heart”, “Glory Days” and “Dancing in the Dark”.

The band has had numerous hit singles throughout their career and have sold over 120 million records worldwide. They are one of the best-selling bands of all time and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.

An interesting fact about the E-Street Band is that the members have remained largely unchanged since the 1970s. The only changes have been the addition of new members such as keyboardist Charles Giordano and saxophonist Jake Clemons (nephew of the late Clarence Clemons).
