Bobby Womack (1944-2014) was an American singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he rose to fame as the lead singer of The Valentinos in the 1960s. He released his debut solo album, Fly Me to the Moon, in 1968 and went on to release a total of 24 albums over his career.

Womack was known for blending soul, gospel, and rock and roll music. His biggest hits include “Across 110th Street”, “If You Think You’re Lonely Now”, and “That’s The Way I Feel About Cha”. His most acclaimed albums include Communication (1971), Understanding (1972), and The Poet (1981).

An interesting fact about Bobby Womack is that he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.
