Bobby Hutcherson Vinyl Records

Bobby Hutcherson was an American jazz vibraphone and marimba player. Born in Los Angeles, California in 1941, Hutcherson was inspired by the music of Milt Jackson and Red Norvo and began playing the vibraphone at an early age. He began his professional career in the early 1960s and went on to perform with jazz greats such as Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner, Joe Henderson, and Eric Dolphy.

Throughout his career, Hutcherson released over 20 albums as a leader, many of which were highly acclaimed. His standout albums include Components (1965), Happenings (1966), Dialogue (1965), Total Eclipse (1974), and Medina (1977). His most successful album was Components, which was voted one of the top jazz albums of the decade by Downbeat magazine.

Hutcherson's most well-known songs include "Little B's Poem" from Components, "Ya-Ya" from Happenings, and "Ummh" from Medina.

An interesting fact about Hutcherson is that he was a Grammy-nominated artist who was inducted into the Downbeat Hall of Fame in 2013.
