Bob Brookmeyer Vinyl Records

Bob Brookmeyer (1929-2011) was an American jazz trombonist, composer, arranger and pianist. He was a major figure in the cool jazz and post-bop eras, and was one of the pioneers of jazz-rock fusion.

Brookmeyer began his professional career in the early 1950s playing in a variety of big bands and small groups. He is best known for his work with Stan Getz, Clark Terry, Gerry Mulligan, and the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra. He also composed and arranged extensively for big bands, film soundtracks, and television.

Some of Brookmeyer's standout albums include "The Dual Role" (1957), "Re-Creation of the Gods" (1972), and "Old Friends" (1977). Notable songs include "Fables of Faubus" (1959), "Waiting for the Moment" (1960), and "Portrait of a Count" (1970).

An interesting fact about Bob Brookmeyer is that he was one of the first jazz musicians to incorporate rock and pop elements into his music. He was also a prolific composer and arranger, writing over 500 works for small groups, big bands, and orchestras.
