Blue Mitchell Vinyl Records

Blue Mitchell was an American jazz trumpeter who was active from the 1950s to the 1970s. He is best known for his tenure with the Horace Silver Quintet from 1956 to 1960 and for his own Blue Note albums of the 1960s.

Blue Mitchell's most popular and acclaimed albums include The Thing To Do (1964), Heads Up! (1965), and Down With It! (1966). These albums featured some of his most famous compositions, such as "Mellow Yellow," "For Minors Only," and "Down With It." His later albums, such as Step Lightly (1970) and Big 6 (1973), also received considerable critical praise.

An interesting fact about Blue Mitchell is that he was an important part of the jazz-funk movement of the late 1960s and early 1970s, recording with the likes of Herbie Hancock, Joe Henderson, and Hubert Laws. He was also a major influence on the jazz-funk fusion of the 1970s and beyond.
