Billy Preston

Billy Preston was an American soul and rock musician, known as the "Fifth Beatle" because of his many collaborations with The Beatles. He was also an acclaimed solo artist and worked with numerous other musicians throughout his career. He was born in Houston, Texas in 1946 and began playing piano as a child. He eventually moved to Los Angeles and played with Little Richard's band, The Upsetters.

Preston's first solo album was The Most Exciting Organ Ever, released in 1964. He released a number of albums throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including Music Is My Life (1972), The Kids and Me (1975), and Late at Night (1981). He also released singles, such as "Outa-Space" (1972) and "Will It Go Round in Circles" (1973). His most famous collaboration with The Beatles was on their song "Get Back" from 1969.

An interesting fact about Preston is that he worked with a number of prominent musicians, including Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, Sly Stone, and George Harrison. He was also a member of the band Little Richard and the Upsetters and performed with them on their tour of Europe in 1964. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.
