Big Joe Williams (Joseph Lee Williams) was an American blues musician and songwriter, born in Crawford, Mississippi in 1903. He was an influential and prolific musician who often used his own homemade guitar, the "9-string guitar", which was made up of a regular 6-string guitar with 3 extra strings.
