Barney Wilen (1937-1996) was a French jazz saxophonist and composer. He began playing the saxophone at age 12, and was influenced by the music of Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, and Ornette Coleman. Wilen was part of the Parisian jazz scene of the 1950s and 1960s, playing with artists such as Miles Davis, Kenny Clarke, and Bud Powell.
