Average White Band Vinyl Records

Average White Band is a funk and R&B band formed in Scotland in 1971. The band was initially formed by Alan Gorrie, Onnie McIntyre, Malcolm "Molly" Duncan, Roger Ball, and Robbie McIntosh. They are best known for their hits "Pick Up the Pieces," "Cut the Cake," and "Person to Person."

The band released their debut album, Average White Band, in 1974. This album featured the hit single "Pick Up the Pieces," which topped the charts in the United States and reached number six in the UK. Other successful songs from the album included "Cut the Cake" and "Person to Person." The band's follow-up album, Cut the Cake, released in 1975, featured the title track and the hit single "If I Ever Lose This Heaven."

The band released their third album, Soul Searching, in 1976. This album featured the hits "School Boy Crush," "A Love of Your Own," and "Queen of My Soul." The band released several more albums throughout the 70s and 80s, including Warmer Communications (1978), Shine (1980), and Feel No Fret (1981).

In an interesting fact, Average White Band's biggest hit, "Pick Up the Pieces," was originally recorded as a demo and not intended to be released as a single. However, the song was so popular that it was eventually released as a single and became the band's most successful song.
