Ashford & Simpson Vinyl Records

Ashford & Simpson were an American husband-and-wife songwriting-production team and recording duo, made up of Nickolas Ashford (May 4, 1942 – August 22, 2011) and Valerie Simpson (born August 26, 1946). They met in 1964 while working at the same New York City recording studio and married in 1974.

Their biggest hits as a duo include "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" (1967), "You're All I Need to Get By" (1968), "Reach Out and Touch (Somebody's Hand)" (1970), and "Solid" (1984). Ashford & Simpson were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002.

Some of their standout albums include the Grammy-nominated Send It (1978) and Street Opera (1982). They also released the critically acclaimed Stay Free (1979) and Is It Still Good To Ya (1980).

An interesting fact about Ashford & Simpson is that they wrote and produced the smash hit "Uptown" for Diana Ross and The Supremes, which became the group's first No. 1 single on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1969.
