Amy Grant

Amy Grant is an American singer, songwriter and musician. She began her career in Christian music and has become one of the most successful artists in the genre, having achieved both critical and commercial success. She has released a total of 15 studio albums, 7 live albums and 10 compilation albums, selling more than 30 million records worldwide.

Her breakthrough album was 1981's Age to Age, which went on to become the first Christian album to go platinum. It featured the hit singles "El Shaddai" and "Angels". Her follow-up album, Unguarded, was released in 1985 and became her first to chart on the Billboard 200. It spawned the hit singles "Find a Way" and "The Next Time I Fall", the latter of which was a duet with Peter Cetera.

In the 1990s, Grant had her most commercially successful period, releasing albums such as Heart in Motion (1991) and House of Love (1994). Heart in Motion was her highest charting album, reaching #1 on the Billboard 200 and producing five top-20 singles, including the hits "Baby Baby" and "Every Heartbeat". House of Love spawned three top-20 singles, including the title track.

In 2001, Grant released the album Behind the Eyes, which spawned the hit single "Out in the Open". She followed this with Simple Things (2003), a rootsy, Americana-influenced album which featured the single "Saved by Love".

An interesting fact about Amy Grant is that she was the first Christian artist to ever have a video on MTV. The video was for her song "Like I Love You".
