Al Jarreau was an American jazz singer and musician who recorded over 20 albums and earned seven Grammy awards throughout his career. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1940 and began his musical career singing in church and in high school musicals. Jarreau developed a unique scat-singing style and was known for his vocal range and improvisational abilities.
Some of Jarreau's most popular albums include Breakin' Away (1981), High Crime (1984), and Heaven and Earth (1993). His standout songs include “We’re in This Love Together”, “Mornin'”, “After All”, and “Boogie Down”.
An interesting fact about Al Jarreau is that he was the first singer to win Grammy awards in the jazz, pop, and R&B categories.
