Al Bowlly (1903–1941) was an influential British-Mozambican jazz singer who is considered one of the most influential crooners of the 1930s. He made a name for himself as one of the most popular singers of the era, performing with some of the greatest jazz musicians of the time, including Nat Gonella, Roy Fox, and Ray Noble.

Bowlly's most popular albums include his 1935 album Goodnight, Sweetheart, which featured many of his most popular songs such as "Goodnight, Sweetheart," "The Very Thought of You," and "Georgia On My Mind." His 1938 album Memories of You featured some of his most iconic songs, including "Love Is The Sweetest Thing" and "Midnight, The Stars and You."

One interesting fact about Al Bowlly is that he was the first British musician to have a song reach number one on the US charts. The song, "Love Is The Sweetest Thing," was released in 1934 and remained at the top of the charts for five weeks.

Bowlly's music has had a lasting impact on jazz and pop music, and his songs have been covered by a wide range of artists, including Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, and Bing Crosby.
