13th Floor Elevators Vinyl Records

13th Floor Elevators were an American psychedelic rock band formed in Austin, Texas in 1965. The band was composed of vocalist/guitarist Roky Erickson, guitarist Stacy Sutherland, bassist Ronnie Leatherman, keyboardist Tommy Hall, and drummer John Ike Walton.

The band is most notable for their pioneering of the psychedelic sound, which was showcased on their debut album, The Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators, which was released in 1966. The album featured the band's best known songs, "You're Gonna Miss Me" and "Roller Coaster". The band's second album, Easter Everywhere, released in 1967, was also critically acclaimed, featuring the songs "Slip Inside This House" and "She Lives (In a Time of Her Own)".

The 13th Floor Elevators had a short-lived career, as they disbanded in 1969. However, they had a lasting impact on the psychedelic rock genre and are often cited as one of the most influential bands of the era.

An interesting fact about the 13th Floor Elevators is that Tommy Hall wrote all of the band's songs on a dictaphone, as he was unable to read or write music.
