"Made In Japan" was recorded at three concerts between August 15 and 17, 1972 at Festival Hall, Osaka, and Nippon-Budokan, Tokyo. Originally, the release was intended only for the Japanese market. Four tracks are taken from the 1972 album "Machine Head", with their best lineup in fan consensus, consisting of Ian Gillan (vocals), Ritchie Blackmore (guitars), Roger Glover (bass), Jon Lord (organ, keys) and Ian Paice (drums)
