My Bloody Valentine – Loveless

My Bloody Valentine's Loveless arrived in 1991 as the band's second album, and it still feels like a record built from studio experiment as much as songcraft. Kevin Shields pushed the group further into a sound of texture, glide and disorientation, with Bilinda Butcher's voice floating inside dense layers of guitar rather than sitting cleanly on top. That approach helped define shoegaze, but Loveless still stands apart for how physical it feels: music made to be absorbed as a whole, not picked apart track by track.
