The band stretches three-minute punk burners into blistering feminist anthems, with Cable Ties mixing rhythmically pulsating post-punk with garage rock

Jenny McKechnie bundles her issues into songs that resonate deeply and give voice to feelings that are often withheld. Shauna Boyle and Nick Brown provide the rhythm, rooted in the primitivism of the Stooges, that lays the foundation for McKechnie's guitar fireworks and vocal performances. Through their music, the three friends turn their fears into battle cries

The band has been advocating for an inclusive feminist and political viewpoint since their inception in 2015, addressing gender-based violence, colonialism, and sexual assault in their songs. The band members host benefit shows, DIY festivals and volunteer with Girls Rock!, a non-profit organization that aims to empower female, transgender and non-binary youth in music

Cable Ties support their local community and play diverse and inclusive shows. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2017.
