Syd Barrett

Syd Barrett was an English singer, songwriter and musician who was a founding member of the rock band Pink Floyd in the 1960s. He left the band in 1968 due to his mental health issues and went on to have a brief but influential solo career. His solo albums include The Madcap Laughs (1970) and Barrett (1970). His most famous songs include “Octopus”, “Golden Hair” and “Terrapin”. An interesting fact about Syd Barrett is that he wrote the song “See Emily Play” in 1966 while under the influence of LSD. This song went on to become one of Pink Floyd's most successful singles.
