Stoner Rock

Stoner Rock is a genre of music that is heavily influenced by 1970s hard rock, psychedelic rock, and doom metal. It is characterized by slow tempos, heavily distorted guitars, low-pitched vocals, and a heavy emphasis on groove and riff-based songwriting. The genre began to emerge in the early 1990s, when bands such as Kyuss, Monster Magnet, and Sleep began to experiment with combining elements of hard rock, psychedelic rock, and doom metal. Stoner Rock has since grown in popularity, and has been further expanded and explored by bands such as Fu Manchu, Electric Wizard, and Bongzilla.
