Culture Club — Colour By Numbers
Includes insert with song lyrics
Colour by Numbers was Culture Club's most successful album, and can even be considered as one of the most popular albums from the '80s in general. Scoring no less than five hit singles, this set of songs dominated the charts for a full year, both in the U.S. and in Europe.
With its infectious songs, videos all over MTV, and Boy George as a charismatic appearance, the band was a media magnet back in 1983. The vocals sounded as warm and soulful as ever, resulting in both the burning down the house churner "Church Of The Poison Mind" and the irresistibly catchy "Karma Chameleon."
In the '80s music was, in many cases, flamboyant, fun, sexy, soulful, colourful, androgynous, and carefree, and this album captured that spirit perfectly. A must for any collector of 80s music, and the artistic and commercial pinnacle of a band that still attracted new fans years later.
