  • Broadcast was an English indietronica band formed in Birmingham in 1995 by Trish Keenan (vocals, keyboards, guitar) and James Cargill (bass). Apart from the founding members, there have been regular lineup changes. Their musical style combines elements of 1960s American psychedelia and experimental electronica. In addition, the band used samples from various sources and thus achieved cult status in the scene.

In the course of their career Broadcast released three official albums and several EPs, of which the British label Warp Records reissues three again in 2022. These are rare releases from the band that were previously unavailable on digital platforms: "Microtronics - Volumes 1 & 2" (originally released in 2003 and 2005), "Mother Is the Milky Way" (originally released in 2009) and the "BBC Maida Vale Sessions" are now available again on CD and vinyl. All recordings have been digitally remastered in the course of the re-release.

Between October 1996 and August 2003 Broadcast recorded four BBC sessions at Maida Vale Studios in London. The total of 15 tracks are now available either on CD or double LP. With "Sixty Forty" the band already presented a song from the "BBC Maida Vale Sessions".
