BRAT uses hard club drums, spare synth lines and unusually direct writing about ambition, friendship and insecurity. 360, Von dutch and Girl, so confusing work as immediate pop songs, but the album also documents the tension between confidence and self-doubt. Its visual identity made the release easy to recognise without replacing the music.
