The Power Station is an LP by The Power Station from 1985 released on the Parlophone label.
About this album
The Power Station’s debut is a sharp, muscular slice of mid-’80s pop rock, powered by the unlikely alliance of Duran Duran’s John and Andy Taylor with Chic drummer Tony Thompson and Robert Palmer on vocals. Built around Bernard Edwards’ tight production, it turns funk rhythm, hard rock riffing and glossy studio craft into a tense, radio-ready statement. Some Like It Hot became the breakout hit, while the band’s take on Get It On (Bang A Gong) underlined the project’s swagger and mainstream appeal. Released in 1985, the album became one of the era’s most distinctive star-driven side projects.
