We're Only In It For The Money is an LP by The Mothers from 1968 released on the Verve Records label.
About this album
Frank Zappa’s We’re Only in It for the Money is a caustic, brilliantly inventive satire that pushed the boundaries of 1960s rock. Released in 1968, the album lampoons hippie culture and pop convention while folding in collage, musique concrète, avant-garde textures and acid-drenched guitar work. Recorded with The Mothers of Invention, it uses abrupt edits, spoken fragments and mock-serious arrangements to sharpen its comic bite without losing musical ambition. Widely regarded as one of Zappa’s most provocative statements, it helped define art-rock’s willingness to be funny, abrasive and intellectually restless at the same time.
