About this album
Quatro is the album that turned Suzi Quatro into a global rock star. Released in 1974, it sharpened her tough, leather-clad image with a direct blend of glam and rock ’n’ roll, driven by muscular bass, punchy hooks and a defiant vocal style. Led by the breakthrough single The Wild One, the album also reworks songs such as Keep A-Knockin’ and Hit the Road Jack with a heavier, harder edge. Its mix of swagger, humour and mainstream appeal helped establish Quatro as one of the defining female figures of 1970s rock, and one of the era’s most recognisable crossover acts.
