Slayed? is an LP by Slade from 1977 released on the Polydor, Summit label.
About this album
Slayed? is Slade at their hardest-hitting and most fully formed, turning working-class swagger into one of glam rock’s defining statements. Released in 1972, the album sharpened the band’s loud riffs, call-and-response choruses and boisterous humour into a sound that bridged hard rock muscle with chart-ready hooks. It includes the UK hit Mama Weer All Crazee Now, alongside Gudbuy T’ Jane, both of which helped make Slade one of the era’s most unmistakable singles bands. The record captured the group’s rise from heavy-spirited rockers to major British hitmakers, and remains a key album in the early-’70s glam movement.
