Ego Is Not A Dirty Word is an LP by Skyhooks from 1975 released on the Mushroom label.
About this album
Ego Is Not A Dirty Word is Skyhooks at their sharpest: a brash, witty glam-pop statement that helped define mid-1970s Australian rock. Released in 1975, the album followed the huge success of Living in the 70's and showed the band could turn provocation into durability, mixing cheeky satire, hard-edged hooks and mass appeal. With Graeme “Shirley” Strachan’s theatrical vocals and Red Symons’ guitar bite front and centre, songs such as the title track, Saturday Night and All My Friends Are Getting Married captured suburban frustration, sexual politics and nightlife with rare local flair. It became one of Skyhooks’ key albums and a landmark of Australian pop culture.
