KC & The Sunshine Band’s self-titled 1975 album is a landmark of early disco-funk, turning the Miami group into international hitmakers. Built around Harry Wayne Casey’s sharp hooks, tight rhythm section and exuberant party feel, it helped define the sound that bridged funk, soul and dance-pop in the mid-1970s. The album spawned two of the era’s most enduring singles, That's The Way (I Like It) and Get Down Tonight, both of which became huge crossover hits and staples of dance floors ever since. Its mix of groove, melody and celebration made it one of the defining records of the disco boom.
