The Dream Weaver is Gary Wright’s breakthrough solo album, a polished blend of rock, pop and synthesiser-led experimentation that helped bring keyboards to the front of mid-1970s radio. Released in 1975, it turned Wright from former Spooky Tooth member into a solo star, driven by the hit singles Love Is Alive and the title track Dream Weaver. Built around bright hooks, layered keyboards and a sleek studio sound, the album sits at the crossroads of pop rock and early electronic music, and remains the work most closely associated with Wright’s career. Its success made it one of the era’s most recognisable crossover albums.
