    Deep Purple In Rock is the album that turned Deep Purple into one of hard rock’s defining bands. Released in 1970, it introduced the classic Mark II line-up of Ian Gillan, Ritchie Blackmore, Roger Glover, Jon Lord and Ian Paice, and pushed the group into a heavier, more aggressive sound.
