About this album
Child Is Father to the Man announced Blood, Sweat & Tears as one of the most adventurous groups to emerge from the late-1960s rock scene. Their 1968 debut blends rock, jazz and pop with horn-driven arrangements, drawing on blues rock and psychedelic energy while stretching far beyond standard album formats. The record is best known for its expansive ambition and standout pieces such as I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know and I Can’t Quit Her, which helped define the band’s early sound. Though the lineup would soon change, this album established their reputation for combining serious musicianship with commercial instinct.
