Tomita is a Japanese electronic music composer and performer who is often cited as a pioneer in the field of electronic music. He is best known for his 1974 album Snowflakes Are Dancing, which was the first electronic album to use the then-new Moog synthesizer. His other albums include Kosmos (1975), Andromeda (1977), Firebird (1979), and The Planets (1977).
