Thrash

Thrash is a style of heavy metal music that originated in the early 1980s. Thrash metal combines elements of traditional heavy metal, hardcore punk, and speed metal, and is characterized by fast tempos, high-energy riffing, and aggressive lyrical themes. Thrash was developed primarily in the United States and Germany by bands such as Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, and Testament. The genre has since been embraced by numerous other bands and has gone on to influence genres such as nu-metal, death metal, and metalcore.
