The Taj Mahal is an American blues musician, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and film composer who has been active since the 1960s. He is considered to be one of the greatest blues musicians of all time.
Taj Mahal's most well-known albums include Giant Step/De Ole Folks at Home (1969), The Natch'l Blues (1968), Mo' Roots (1974), and An Evening of Acoustic Music (1994). His most popular songs include “Fishin’ Blues”, “She Caught the Katy”, “Corinna”, and “Going Up to the Country, Paint My Mailbox Blue”.
An interesting fact about Taj Mahal is that he was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2008 for his album Maestro, which was the first time in his career he was nominated for the prestigious award.
