Howard Jones is an English singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Southampton, England. He is best known for his New Wave and Synthpop hits of the 1980s. Jones's career began in 1983, when he released his debut single "New Song", which became a Top 10 hit in the UK. He released his debut album Human's Lib in 1984, which spawned several hit singles including "What Is Love?", "Hide and Seek", and "Things Can Only Get Better". The album peaked at number one in the UK and was certified triple-platinum.

His follow-up album, Dream into Action, was released in 1985 and featured the hits "No One Is to Blame", "Look Mama", and "Life in One Day". The album was certified platinum in the UK and reached the Top 10 in the US.
