Howard Jones is an English singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Southampton, England. He is best known for his New Wave and Synthpop hits of the 1980s. Jones's career began in 1983, when he released his debut single "New Song", which became a Top 10 hit in the UK. He released his debut album Human's Lib in 1984, which spawned several hit singles including "What Is Love?", "Hide and Seek", and "Things Can Only Get Better". The album peaked at number one in the UK and was certified triple-platinum.

His follow-up album, Dream into Action, was released in 1985 and featured the hits "No One Is to Blame", "Look Mama", and "Life in One Day". The album was certified platinum in the UK and reached the Top 10 in the US. Jones's third album, One to One, was released in 1986 and featured the hits "You Know I Love You...Don't You?", "No One Is to Blame" (re-recorded for this album), and "All I Want". The album reached the Top 10 in the UK and US and was certified gold in the UK.

His fourth album, Cross That Line, was released in 1989 and featured the hit "The Prisoner". Jones's fifth album, In the Running, was released in 1992 and featured the hit "Bounce Right Back". Jones's sixth album, Working in the Backroom, was released in 1994 and featured the hits "The Last Perfect Moment" and "Dream Into Action '94".

Jones's seventh album, People, was released in 1996 and featured the hit "One Last Try". Jones's eighth album, Revolution of the Heart, was released in 2005 and featured the hit "Ordinary Heroes". Jones's ninth album, Engage, was released in 2009 and featured the hit "All I Want".

An interesting fact about Howard Jones is that he released a song in 2006 called "Everlasting Love" which was written by him and performed by the winner of the UK television show Pop Idol, Will Young.
